FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR.: "SHANE AIN'T NEVER BEAT A BLACK FIGHTER SINCE HE LOST"

FightHype.com recently caught up with world-class trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. to get an update on how his son, Floyd Mayweather Jr., is looking as he continues to train for his upcoming showdown with WBA welterweight champion Shane Mosley. "I like what I see in Lil' Floyd right now. The thing I like is he's really letting his hands go," he stated. Those comments coincide with what numerous sources have been saying about how Mayweather has been looking in training camp. According to some eyewitnesses, Mayweather has been having his way with his sparring partners. According to Mayweather Sr., however, the same cannot be said for Shane Mosley's training camp.

"I hear he is getting his ass whooped in camp. I don't know if it's true, but I hear he getting his ass whooped," he continued. While it's unclear as to who may have passed that information along to Mayweather Sr., it is concerning to know that with just 4 weeks left until the fight, Mosley's head trainer, Naazim Richardson, is just now joining Team Mosley in camp after spending the last 2 months preparing Steve Cunningham and Bernard Hopkins for their respective bouts.

Regardless, Mayweather Sr. believes that even with Naazim Richardson in his corner, there's one major mental hurdle that Mosley will never get over. "Shane ain't never beat a black fighter since he lost," he added. "He's only been fighting Mexican fighters since Forrest and Winky beat him and hell, Oscar beat him the second time."
